In this update we consider some recent development in legislation including a reminder of the National Minimum Wage rates.
We then look at case law including a development in the British Gas vs Lock case (which hasn’t actually changed much) see below. We go on to look at some other reported cases in the news, including a worrying case for employers on the extent of reasonable adjustments relating to pay for disabled employees. Finally, we look at some upcoming developments in the news which may foreshadow potential developments in employment law, if this Government has any non-Brexit time to progress them! Finally, we cover the recent Government response to consultation on simplifying tax on termination of employment, which will be relevant to those of you who assist with Settlement Agreements.
