In this season’s update we remind MILS’ members of statutory developments. We take a quick look at the new national living wage rates coming in from 1st April 2025 and also the provisions relating to neonatal care (leave and pay) which apply from the 6th April 2025. For those of you keeping an eye on the Employment Rights Bill, we take a look at some of the Government’s amendments which could impact MILS’ members later in the year and in 2026.
Finally, we take a look at 2 cases. An interesting case relating to a dismissal of an employee for discriminatory comments on Facebook and a case that considered the interplay in litigation between ‘pleadings’ and a ‘list of issues’, which may be of assistance to employers.
