Summer 2025
As the Employment Rights Bill gradually progresses through Parliament, statutory developments in employment law have been quiet in the last few months. Whilst the storm gathers on the horizon, in this season’s update we look at 4 interesting developments in case law.
Firstly, we look at a case on part-time workers discrimination (discussing a presently suspect authority which may at some point be overruled). Next, we look at a case on the importance of an “entire agreement” clause in a contract. Finally, we consider two cases on discrimination: a case looking at transgender whistle blowing, and an Employment Appeal decision on whether the requirement to wear a mask was discriminatory on the grounds of disability or belief.
