Barristers Chambers - A New Model for Motor Industry Legal Services
In order to take advantage of the legal services deregulation which came into force in April 2011, our Head of Legal, Christopher Baylis, formed Riverview Chambers. Christopher is Chief Executive of Riverview Chambers, which is also supported by Riverview Solicitors whose senior partner is Andrew Reeves (Head of Commercial Solicitors at MILS). One of the investors in Riverview is the largest law firm in the world, DLA Piper.
Christopher has recruited a team of 50 practitioners with 36 barristers and 14 QCs, thereby offering clients legal teams of exceptionally high quality.
The Only Lawyers Working Exclusively for Motor Retailers
Riverview Chambers has been designed to offer corporate clients direct access on a fixed fee retainer basis to expert barristers in the areas of employment and commercial law. Christopher has thus pioneered a completely new legal model for corporate businesses which is already changing the legal landscape in the UK.
The legal teams are supported by solicitors as and when required. It is the barristers however who conduct cases directly and who decide on legal and commercial strategy. We have therefore replaced the traditional legal model with a barrister led service designed to irradicate costs and inefficiencies which have been prevalent for so long in the hourly rate solicitor led system.
Unbeatable Pricing on a Fixed Fee Annual Retainer Basis
As a result of the above innovations, MILS are now providing unbeatable pricing to clients on a fixed fee annual retainer basis. In addition, our 20 years as the only lawyers working exclusively to motor retailers means that we are able to combine this enhanced service with our considerable expertise within the UK motor retail sector.
